Our History
Interventional radiology began with early 20th-century x-ray innovations and was revolutionized by Werner Forssmann in 1929. The Seldinger technique, introduced in 1953, became foundational worldwide. Malaysia adopted these practices in 1968, leading to the establishment of the Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) in 2012, which now drives educational and collaborative efforts in the field.
